ANDRIANA TESLYUK
Therapeutic Team
I come from Toronto, Ontario and was born and raised the first 7 years of my life in Ukraine before my parents immigrated to Canada.
I come with a background in the medical field, working as a critical care Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department and Neuro-Intensive Care Unit for more than 12 years. My curiosity towards mental health grew in witnessing others suffer when their physical health is compromised and impacted by diseases, illnesses, and disabilities. That's when I chose to pursue a Masters of Arts in Counseling in Psychology where I discovered an interest in becoming a Trauma therapist by integrating the mind, the body and the soul together in harmony. I am currently in my last phase of completing her certification in Somatic Experiencing, a modality developed by Dr. Peter Levine used in working with Trauma. I combine my medical knowledge and expertise together with psychology in working with the nervous system to help the body learn to find stability and safety within.
I have a private practice in Toronto, Ontario, supporting clients with chronic illnesses, complex medical diagnoses, grief & loss, caregiver stress & burnout. In the last 1.5 years, I have been actively working and continues to offer support groups to newly arrived-Ukrainians in Canada. I have developed an experiential program designed for Ukrainians to regulate the nervous system by providing a combination of psychoeducation, tools, and techniques.
I am a lifelong learner, and my lived life experiences empower me to be curious and learn more about others in finding different ways to help support others meaningfully and compassionately. I have curiosity and openness to investigate and learn more about individual experiences of trauma and war acculturation process among Ukrainians living in a new country.
I volunteer with First Aid of the Soul offering therapeutic support in the Self-compassion groups, trainings, and curriculum development for various project.s.
