About the event

Workshop Description:

It is widely known that trauma can greatly impact people's mental health, physical health, and overall well-being. Taking a trauma-informed approach helps individuals to understand and address trauma, leading to better outcomes for both those who have experienced trauma and the staff who assist them.

This presentation will be 2 hours, with time for questions and will increase understanding about:

  • What a trauma-informed approach is

  • Benefits of taking a trauma-informed approach to ourselves, our colleagues, the people we support and our organisations

  • What a trauma-informed way of working can look like

Presenter

Dr. Anna Redding is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, accredited EMDR therapist, Executive Coach, and co-founder and director of Avenue Therapies. She has worked in the NHS and public sector since 2004, specializing in trauma and supporting individuals with severe mental health difficulties.

In 2015, Anna co-founded Avenue Therapies, now a growing community of over 50 therapists providing evidence-based assessment and therapy for individuals, couples, and families.

Alongside her clinical work, Anna is passionate about making psychological support accessible and effective. She provides training and consultation to organizations—including the NHS, county councils, police departments, nonprofit organizations, and private businesses—helping them adopt trauma-informed approaches that improve outcomes for both clients and staff.
