Workshop Title

Creating a Healing Flow: Expressive Art Therapy and Somatic Interventions for Summer

Workshop Description

Dear Friends and Colleagues, We would love to invite you for our new part of Healing Flow workshop series: Expressive Arts and Somatic Interventions for Summer.

Mountains are often seen as places of refuge and reconnection with the natural world. In summer, we often visit mountains to experience more grounding, restoration, and rest. They symbolize stability, strength, and resilience. In some cultures, mountains are seen as sacred beings and treated as persons. In Japan, Fuji-san holds profound symbolic meaning in Japanese culture, representing natural beauty, endurance, and national identity.

In this workshop, we will take care of our minds, bodies, and hearts through the experience of connection with the image of a mountain. We will also make space for more grounding using gentle movement and visualization.

Key components:

  • Creating a Safe Space: Learn strategies to cultivate a trauma-informed and creative environment within a therapy context.

  • Minimalistic Approach: Discover how to facilitate impactful sessions using minimal resources and art materials.

  • Somatic Interventions: Explore effective somatic tools suitable for both individual and group settings.

  • Expressive Art Therapy Flow: Understand the structure of a therapeutic session that seamlessly blends expressive arts with somatic practices.

  • Improvisation and Playfulness: Embrace creativity and improvisation, making therapy sessions engaging and adaptive.

  • Restorative Practices: Develop techniques for finding moments of calm and restoration for yourself and your clients.

This workshop is ideal for therapists, counselors, and anyone interested in incorporating expressive art therapy and somatic interventions into their practice. Through practical training and hands-on activities, you'll gain the skills to create a soothing somatic flow, fostering holistic well-being for yourself and those you work with. Join us to experience the transformative power of creative and somatic healing practices.
