About the event

Dear Fellow Friends,

We are honored to extend this special invitation to you for our upcoming event:

"Hope for Hope: Mental Health in Ukraine" [З надією сподіваюсь: Психологічне здоров'я в Україні], scheduled for Sunday, February 25th, from 19:30-:21:15 (Ukraine time | 12:30-2:15 PM EST

As we approach the two-year mark since the full-scale invasion of Russia against Ukraine, and ten years since the start of the war in 2014, we would like to recognize and honor the resilience of true heroes. We are honored to be hosting a panel discussion with our dear Ukrainian colleagues in the mental health sphere who are working across Ukraine.

In the face of adversity, so many have dedicated themselves to offering mental health support and restoring hope to millions of vulnerable and displaced people within Ukraine and abroad. It has been a true privilege to “sing our songs where darkness holds its sway, maintaining a steadfast hope forever keeping. We shall live, brushing away thoughts of grief, and embracing the resilience that springs from within,” [adapted from poem Contra Spem Spero by Lesya Ukrainka].

Over the last two years, our mission with First Aid of the Soul (FAS) has been founded on making trauma-informed mental health support services accessible to those most in need, particularly vulnerable individuals and communities affected by the war. In a landscape where many have lost loved ones, been displaced, and live in fear of the unknown, our efforts strive to bring a sense of belonging, compassion, and hope to their lives. As we, FAS, extend support to mental health professionals, educators, and other frontline professionals, we recognize that this collective effort extends our ability to reach thousands more distressed individuals needing first aid care for the soul.

Your presence and support honoring our guests at our upcoming event would add immeasurable value to the rebuilding of Ukraine through mental health. Together, “let us smile through tears and weeping, singing songs where hopelessness may attempt to hold its sway,” [adapted from poem by Lesya Ukrainka].

The event will be hosted on Zoom, and we kindly request you to register in advance using the REGISTER button below.

Your attendance will not only light a path towards a brighter future for mental health in Ukraine but also serve as a beacon of hope for those in the enduring night.

With compassion and care, FAS Team
